Why Volunteer With US?

A Grassroots Organization: For more than 50 years, we have remained a grassroots, all-volunteer organization that relies on the financial support and dedicated volunteers from our community to exist.  We are funded by local grants and donations from compassionate individuals and businesses within our community. By volunteering with us, you will be contributing to a cause that directly benefits your neighbors in need.

Embrace Diversity: At ICS, we value diversity and welcome volunteers from all walks of life. We strongly believe that a diverse team enriches our efforts and allows us to better understand the unique needs of our community.

Utilize Your Skills: Do you have computer and communication skills?  Do you have experience in marketing, fundraising, or grant writing?  We are in need of volunteers who can use these skills to support our vital operations and/or process client requests.

Flexible Hours:. Most volunteers work collaboratively in pairs in our office processing client requests 2 to 4 mornings per month from 8:45 AM until noon. Scheduling is very flexible. Some work may be done electronically from home. For volunteers helping with organizational support, the hours are not specific and very flexible.

Ways To Get Involved

Client Request Processing: Our primary need is for volunteers who can assist with processing client requests. This vital role ensures that financial aid reaches those who require immediate assistance.

Marketing, Fundraising and Grant Writing: If you have experience in marketing, fundraising or grant writing, your skills will be highly valued in helping us secure additional resources to extend our support to more individuals and families.

IT Support and Website Maintenance: We welcome volunteers with IT knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, Sharepoint and WordPress to help maintain, update and streamline our operations.

Your Commitment: Volunteering with ICS requires an ongoing commitment of at least one year, typically dedicating  3 hours, 2-4 times per month. ICS cannot accept short-term volunteer commitments such as fulfilling a community service obligation or educational requirement. By committing to this timeframe, you can truly make a lasting impact on the lives of those in need.

Training is Provided: Don’t worry if you’re new to volunteering; we provide training to equip you with the necessary knowledge and skills to carry out your role effectively. Training is offered through both virtual meetings and one-on-one sessions in the office.
